We always get asked this question why embroidered crest work out more expensive than basic text embroidery so in this article we try to explain how the costing works. Its not a detailed out line but a basic overview how the embroidery machine works and we as a company do the costing.
When we do costing on logos we tend to talk about stitch counts which in short basically means how many stitches are needed to make a logo (in other words how many times the needles goes up and down to make your artwork). Now a basic text embroidery could be completed on the machine in 5 mins with a stitch count of 3000 stitches where as a logo like IMPERIAL COLLEGE logo has a much as 28,000 stitches which could take up to 25 min to complete depending on how fast one is running the machine. So basically its the time consumed by the machine, labour time and production capacity which determines what costs need to be added. That is why a crest embroidery cost a lot more than basic text embroidery.
